Looking for your soul mate?
Many are enamored with the idea of finding their soul mate, that significant other that strongly resembles their own beliefs and attitudes. And why not? I mean, if I could run around with another me...
To be serious, though, I get the feeling that most people don't really know what their soul is searching for in their personal lives because they find the stuff of a "purpose-driven life" too complicated to examine. It's true in business, as well. Those gifted, trusted advisors in business development we all aspire to be, first know themselves. Then, they find what makes them "jiggy." That is, they learn what moves their soul towards more opportunity and more action. As they grow in passion and purpose, they attract more of the same and at ever-expanding rates.
For me, there are three things that are the soul of life success and three of sales success. In life, mine are passion, music, and laughter. They're a big chunk of my DNA. In sales, they are behavior, attitude, and technique.
David Sandler said, "It's not how you feel that determines how you act, it's how you act that determines how you feel." Doing sales behaviors, the right ones, becomes paramount. Wire yourself for great sales behaviors and your attitude will make you feel like a rock star. Do the behaviors and technique is child's play.
